August 1st. Today I celebrate 30 years in business. 1989 I began Infinite Potential.
I could say it came from a Martin Luther King moment of ‘ I have a dream’
It wasn’t.
When I began, did I see this day? No.
Plan for this day? No
Imagine being this successful? No
Why not? It was more a ‘what if….’ Moment.‘ What if I could do this for others’ which grew into a passion, a determination and a way of life.
33 years ago I was involved in a car accident that initially, at the scene, I wasn’t expected to survive. I did.
I was treated by the wonderful cranial osteopath, Peter Morton ( who unfortunately, crossed the rainbow bridge years ago) There was no social media, no computers, no programmes to help plan goals outcomes and structures for business, as there is today.
However, there were books, CD’s and courses to attend. I discovered Napolean Hill, Jim Rohn and John Thie. I read and read and studied. Why?
Because, whilst I accepted doctors’ and hospitals’ diagnosis, I would not accept their prognosis. I had my children to look after.
Discovering the mind, body connection I trained as a counsellor. This meant I too had to have a counselllor. I had several before I found one who didn’t want to turn everything into a ‘reason’ or have that quiet voice. ‘doesn’t anyone speak normally?’; I could be heard bemoaning. During my training and searching, I completed the Tony Robbins’ Mastery University courses in America. Now there’s a different kind of normal voice! Brilliant.
I like people. I find being human fascinating. Brains, bodies, energy, all amazing. How we, bodies and minds operate is an all encompassing miracle.
I trained as a massage therapist, reflexologist and aromatherapist. I also became a Kinesiologist and Educational Kinesiologist. This methodology has been at the heart of my work ever since. Add Energy psychology, Transactional analysis, psychology, an MA and many others. It quickly became obvious that my style is eclectic. I didn’t want to be fitted into a system and believed others would feel the same.
I was right.
All of this to sort out my own body, enabling me to work and keep my family supported.
There was that awakening moment, If I can do this for me, What if I could do it for others. What if, with everything I have learned and continue to learn, I could have a positive impact on others’ lives. Despite my husband echoing my mothers’ mantra of ‘ Who do you think you are?’ ‘ It won’t work.’ I began.
Infinite Potential – Inside everyone are the seeds of infinite potential, was born.
Here I am today, 30 years later.
Not for the same reason, but I am on crutches.

This time an operation, not an accident and I am grateful for both. The accident woke me up and showed me a world I did not know existed and one in which I continue to live. The operation, has reminded me of how grateful I am to be reminded that the ‘small’ things in life are huge – getting a drink, walking, being independent – One small toe for me one giant step in frustration.
What next? What can I learn? What can I pass on?
Will I have the joy of making a positive difference for the next 30 years ?
That is my aim and the blogs that follow will be me sharing with you what I have learned and inviting you, and keep reminding me, to put our
Best Foot Forward
